Request by FOI By Proxy (sent 8th November 2014):
Dear Newcastle City Council,

I am making this request under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please provide the following information for each of the last 5 calendar years (including 2014 to date):

1. The amount of money paid by Newcastle City Council to motorists to compensate them for injury/damage caused to their person/property by defects on the public highway.

2. The amount of money paid by Newcastle City Council to pedestrians to compensate them for injury/damage caused to their person/property by defects on the public highway.

In respect of point 2 above, I would expect your response to include pedestrians injured on pavements/footpaths etc. maintained by Newcastle City Council.

Many thanks for your help.
